The TSX recently announced proposals to reshape Canada’s equities trading landscape. The proposals, intended to preserve the efficiency and integrity of Canada’s public capital markets, is likely welcomed by Bryce Tingle of the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, who recently wrote a column in this newspaper questioning efforts by the TSX and Canadian security regulators to liberalize the private capital markets and reduce incentives for a company to go public.
