Andrew Harmes is an associate in the Corporate Restructuring Group at Goodmans. He practices in the areas of corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on corporate restructurings and related transactions.
Andrew received the Insolvency Institute of Canada Law Student Writing Award for a paper he authored while completing his J.D. at Osgoode Hall Law School on the treatment of shareholders and equity claims in Canadian corporate insolvency proceedings. During law school, Andrew was also selected to present his legal research and writing at the Osgoode Hall Law Journal’s J.D. Research Symposium.
Andrew is a former competitive hockey player and recipient of the Maritime Junior ‘A’ Hockey League’s scholastic player of the year. In law school, Andrew combined his athletic and legal interests, authoring an article published in the Harvard Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law.
Andrew joined the firm as a summer student in 2015, returned for his articles in 2016-17, and became an associate in 2017.
