Brookfield Asset Management Completes $200 Million Offering of Medium Term Notes

Goodmans represented the syndicate of agents in connection with an offering by Brookfield Asset Management Inc. of $200 million aggregate principal amount of 5.04% medium term notes, with a March 2024 maturity that closed on October 22, 2013. The issuance was a re-opening of Brookfield’s offering of $300 million aggregate principal amount of medium term notes that closed on September 9, 2013.
The additional notes have the same coupon of 5.04%, as well as the same terms and conditions as the notes issued in September 2013, but were issued at a price of $100.468 plus accrued interest, with an effective yield of 4.981%, if held to maturity. An aggregate of $500 million of notes are outstanding after giving effect to this offering.
The notes were again offered by a syndicate of agents co-led by CIBC World Markets Inc., HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc. and TD Securities Inc. and included RBC Dominion Securities Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and National Bank Financial Inc.
