Mark Surchin is a partner at Goodmans. He has an active transactional corporate law practice, focused on private equity, secured lending work and subordinated debt securities. Mark also provides ongoing corporate/commercial advice to a number of longstanding clients carrying on business in Canada.
Mark’s transactional work involves both intra-Canadian and cross-border transactions. In particular, he regularly represents both domestic and non-Canadian businesses and funds making or disposing of an investment in Canada and in the related secured financing arrangements. Mark has been extensively involved in the senior credit facilities made available to various Canadian income funds as well as the issuance of public debt securities included in cross-border income securities offerings. He also has extensive experience working with various financial advisors and auditors in connection with structuring income fund intercompany debt.
Mark joined Goodmans in 1987 and became a partner in 1989. He is AV Peer Review Rated by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell.
Mark is the President of the Toronto club of the alumni association of Brandeis University.
