Goodmans’ Ronnie Hoffer awarded INTA’s 2007 Volunteer Service Award
TORONTO, Nov. 8 / We are pleased to announce that Ronnie Hoffer has been awarded INTA’s 2007 Volunteer Service Award. The award recognizes exceptional leaders within the International Trademark Association.
Ms. Hoffer received the Advancement of Trademark Law Award for her efforts as chair of INTA’s 2005-7 Examination Subcommittee, which undertook the responsibility of revising INTA’s 1998 Guidelines for Trademark Examination. Due to the significant changes affecting registration practice that have occurred in the decade since the 1998 Guidelines document was first drafted, the Examination Subcommittee formed a team to seek comments and input from members around the world to update the Guidelines. Ms. Hoffer and the team presented the revised Guidelines document to INTA’s Board for approval in September 2007. The approved Guidelines will be an important document used by INTA in its effort to harmonize trademark laws around the globe.
Ms. Hoffer was presented the award by INTA president Dee Ann Weldon-Wilson at INTA’s Leadership Meeting in Orlando, Florida on November 8th, 2007.
