Banking and Financial Services
Goodmans Banking and Financial Services Group is consistently involved in some of the most high-profile national and international financing transactions. Our lawyers strategically structure and close some of Canada’s most novel and complex deals, including pioneering the first sustainability loan in Canada.
Clients choose us for our strength in ground-breaking financings for emergent companies, complex real estate financings, infrastructure and project finance loans, traditional corporate secured and unsecured lending, asset-based lending, acquisition financing, sponsor financing and sustainability loans.
In recent years, our lawyers have been involved in many of the largest private equity financings and corporate acquisition financings in Canada, representing both local and foreign lenders, private equity firms, and corporate borrowers. We have developed solid relationships with some of the leading private equity firms and major lending institutions both inside and outside of Canada.
Using a collaborative and future-oriented approach, we meticulously align aspects of financing transactions to efficiently achieve our clients’ objectives. Building long-standing relationships with our clients positions them to prosper well beyond the deal and through various stages of their business models.
We regularly advise domestic and international banks and other financial institutions, as well as regulators, borrowers, private equity sponsors, asset-based lenders, mezzanine funds and subordinated lenders, development banks and project finance participants.
Our Group has been consistently recognized as a market leader by several international publications.
