Lawrence Chernin serves as counsel at Goodmans. He specializes in securities and corporate law. His practice is primarily focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate governance matters.
He has over 25 years experience in high profile Canadian and international mergers and acquisitions, public company and private equity transactions. During this time he has acted for both issuers and underwriters in connection with public offerings, debt financings and limited partnership tax-oriented financings. Lawrence has also acted as counsel in many significant M&A transactions, plans of arrangements and take-over bids, and frequently provides advice to special committees of public companies.
Lawrence taught a course on private equity at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011-2012.
