Michael Richards is an associate in the Litigation and Construction Law Groups at Goodmans. He has a broad-based practice with a particular focus on construction litigation.
Michael’s construction law practice involves resolving disputes for general contractors and subcontractors, specifically in the area of construction liens, contract claims and negligence claims. Michael assists clients in reviewing and revising construction contracts and subcontracts with a view to avoiding disputes before they arise.
Michael’s practice also involves a broad range of commercial litigation matters spanning various industries, including securities, financial services and technology, and he litigates matters arising in the insolvency and restructuring context.
Michael regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and has appeared before the Commercial List, which specializes in complex commercial matters.
Michael writes on recent developments within Ontario’s construction industry and has helped edit leading construction law texts.
