Neil Harris serves as counsel in the Tax Group at Goodmans. He specializes in Canadian and International tax matters with a particular emphasis on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and taxation aspects of corporate finance, transfer pricing and e-commerce.
He has represented domestic and foreign corporations before the Canada Revenue Agency, federal and provincial Departments of Finance and the Courts.
Neil's transactional and advisory expertise, both in Canada and internationally, is recognized regularly in publications including Chambers Global, Euromoney and LEXPERT.
He was Goodmans' first summer student and has been a partner with the firm since 1977.
Neil has written and lectured extensively on domestic and international taxation issues for the International Fiscal Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation and other Canadian and International tax organizations. He has also lectured at the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Law on advanced tax planning.
