Tom Spelt is an associate at Goodmans. He practices in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and securities law.
While obtaining his J.D. from the Queen’s University Faculty of Law, Tom was named to the Dean’s List and awarded the Queen’s University Entrance Scholarship in Law and the Queen’s Law Prize in Alternative Dispute Resolution. While at law school, Tom spent a semester studying abroad at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in The Netherlands.
Prior to law school, Tom graduated with High Distinction from the University of Toronto, where he was a Dean’s List Scholar and twice received the Martin Simpson Memorial Award for interest in English and French Canadian understanding.
Before joining Goodmans, Tom worked in the Legislation, Ethics and Compliance Department of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (now Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia).
Tom was a summer student at the firm in 2016, returned for his articles in 2017, and became an associate in 2018.
