Kirby Cohen is an associate in the Litigation Group at Goodmans. She practices corporate/commercial litigation, with an emphasis on intellectual property litigation regarding pharmaceuticals.
Upon graduation, Kirby was awarded the Bronze Medal at Queen’s University for achieving the third highest standing in the faculty of law. Over the course of her legal studies, Kirby was the recipient of numerous awards for academic standing including the Dean’s Gold Scholar Award for achieving the highest standing in her second year of law school, the Susan J. Serena Scholarship for overall scholarship and contribution to the faculty, the McCarthy Tetrault Leadership Award for strong academic standing and demonstrating initiative and leadership qualities and the Reuben Wells Leonard Prize in Clinical Correctional Law. Kirby also won awards for attaining the highest standing in various courses including Corporations and Taxations, Fiduciary Obligations and Public Health Law.
While attending law school, Kirby was involved in the Correctional Law Project where she represented inmates before the National Parole Board and penitentiary disciplinary courts, as well as the Legal Aid clinic where she provided legal services to low income residents and students.
Kirby joined the firm as a summer student in 2012 and 2013, articled in 2014/2015 and became an associate in 2015.
