Neil Sheehy is a partner in the Securities and Corporate Law Group at Goodmans.
His practice focuses on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and private equity transactions. Neil has represented a broad range of clients on cross-border transactions in which he acts for clients purchasing or selling businesses in Canada as well as for issuers undertaking public offerings and private placements of securities in Canada. On an ongoing basis, Neil also advises many Canadian reporting issuers in connection with securities compliance and corporate governance matters.
Neil has been recommended as a leading lawyer in mid-market M&A by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and the Lexpert/American Lawyer Media Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada. He is also recognized as a leading corporate lawyer in the Lexpert Special Edition on Canada’s Leading Corporate Lawyers.
Neil heads up one of Goodmans’ business law groups and is a member of Goodmans’ Compensation Committee. Neil is the responsible contact partner with respect to Goodmans’ membership and participation in the World Law Group, and is currently serving as the World Law Group elected President. Neil also serves on the World Law Group’s Membership Committee.
Neil has delivered lectures on various securities and corporate law matters for the Canadian Bar Association, Insight and Osgoode Hall Law School. He has been a partner with Goodmans since 1998.
