Social Media Evidence in Litigation: Finding It and Using It
Social media has created a fundamental shift in how people interact. In Canada, social media usage is particularly prevalent. A 2015 Canadian study indicated that 59% of survey respondents use Facebook, and Facebook’s own statistics as of 2013 reveal that 19 million Canadians log onto Facebook at least once a month. Those numbers do not even include the users of other social media platforms, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, blogs, and many others.
