Excerpt from "It only takes a moment to get sued for cyber libel", by Mark Bourrie:

"In my view, defamation and libel is basically the same," says Peter Ruby, a Toronto-based lawyer with Goodmans LLP who specializes in cyber law.
"On the Internet, there are three things that are different from print: How do you figure out who has jurisdiction to decide whether something is libellous? We've got these cases where someone publishes something in one part of the world, and people in another part of the world feel defamed."
