Kirk is a partner in a business law group and the Technology Group at Goodmans.  He practises corporate and securities law with a particular focus on cross-border merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions. 

Kirk advises public, private and multinational companies and their investors on domestic and cross-border M&A, divestitures, going-private transactions, as well as public and private debt and equity financings and corporate governance matters. Kirk has also advised clients on corporate finance and M&A transactions involving early and later stage technology companies. Kirk advises clients from various jurisdictions and across various industries.


Kirk’s representative work includes acting for:

  • Coca-Cola Canada Bottling Limited in its acquisition of Coca-Cola Refreshments Canada Company from Coca-Cola Refreshments USA, Inc., a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company
  • one of Canada’s leading alternative asset management companies in connection with its sale to a leading independent asset management firm (both companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange)
  • a leading North American provider of SaaS-based customer engagement software in connection with its sale to a U.S. private equity firm
