Tess DiPonio is the Interim Director, Human Resources at Goodmans where she is responsible for the planning and delivering of talent management and organization effectiveness, professional development, learning and development and talent acquisition of staff and administrative professionals.  She currently oversees the Human Resources, Document Production Services, and Internal Communication teams at the firm.

Prior to making the switch to her current role, Tess was the Director, Law Clerk Programs where she was responsible for the recruitment, training and development, and performance management of the firm’s Land Use Planners and Law Clerks in all practice areas.  Tess assisted with the ongoing review and development of practices and policies to enhance paraprofessional support services delivered to lawyers and clients, and worked closely with team members and practice group leaders on the communication plan and implementation of practice-related changes to respond to legislative developments, particularly in the area of corporate and securities law.

Tess has supported other areas of the firm from time to time, including providing oversight to the firm’s Pitches and Proposals team, collaborating with the firm’s Knowledge Management team with respect to the adoption and integration of new legal technologies that impact the delivery of law clerk services and working closely with firm’s Chair on special projects.

Prior to joining Goodmans, Tess practiced civil and commercial litigation with a national law firm.

Tess completed her B.A. and LL.B. at the University of Toronto and was called to the Bar in 1994. She is a member of the International Practice Management Association, and has served on the Boards of The Conference of Independent Schools (Ontario) and The Torch Educational Foundation.
