Instructor: Tara Parker, Goodmans LLP, with industry guests
This 3-part intensive workshop explores the challenges, possibilities, and rewards of television co-production—essential training for all Canadian producers working on, or planning to undertake, a domestic or international co-production project.
Experts from Goodmans LLP, along with industry guests, provide a practical, up-to-the-minute guide to domestic co-productions and co-ventures, and international treaty co-productions. The sessions will include an exploration of incentives to co-produce in the current regulatory environment, negotiating agreements, understanding the complexities of international treaties and co-ventures, and accessing television co-production financing sources.
Through lectures and industry case studies, participants will gain in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by co-productions, and the skills required to assess risks and tackle obstacles involved in these complex structures.
• Domestic Co-Productions and Co-Ventures - July 6
• International Treaty Co-Productions - July 11
