Goodmans Welcomes The Honourable Michael J. Moldaver

Goodmans is pleased to announce that recently retired Supreme Court of Canada Justice Michael J. Moldaver has returned to Goodmans today as Counsel. 

Justice Moldaver served on the Supreme Court of Canada for over a decade.  He began his judicial career as a member of what is now known as the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, in 1990, was elevated to the Court of Appeal in 1995 and appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada in 2011.

Prior to his distinguished judicial career, Justice Moldaver was a prominent member of the criminal bar, and was affiliated with Goodmans during the 1980s. While in practice, in addition to teaching at Osgoode Hall and the University of Toronto law schools, he was a Director of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, a Director of the Advocates’ Society and a Co-Chair of the University of Toronto Academic Tribunal, Discipline Subsection. Justice Moldaver is also an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Justice Moldaver’s impact on the legal system and jurisprudence has been profound.  His breadth of knowledge and highly regarded reputation as a long-serving member of the judiciary will complement the strategic and practical counsel we provide to our clients.  He will be a valued resource for the members of our firm and beyond.
