Halifax's Innovation Hub Volta Welcomes Five New Start-Ups to its Fall 2021 Cohort Program
As reported by BetaKit, Volta has selected five new start-ups to join its fall 2021 cohort program during its Volta Cohort Pitch Event. In addition to providing funding, Canada’s East Coast innovation hub offers selected companies access to important resources and programming to help companies succeed in their early stages. As part of the various resources offered by Volta, a board of mentors is made available to cohort companies. The board of mentors is there to offer advice, as well as to hold each company accountable for agreed upon milestones and metrics.
The five companies selected include Amp Health, Hollo Medical, MOC Biotechnologies, Myomar Molecular Inc., and Parados. Amp Health runs an app designed to help prevent diabetes in pre-diabetics, Hollo Medical is developing a new design for inhalers making them easier to carry around, MOC Biotechnologies offers a hybrid bioprinting technology that can clone hard and soft tissue for human organs, Myomar Molecular Inc. is developing a tool which will help diagnose early stage muscle atrophy, and Parados helps athletes optimize their performance and reduce their risk of serious injuries using predictive analytics.
