Shining Toronto Startup HumanSquad Embarks on Google’s Accelerator Program

A flourishing startup ecosystem creates space for ambitious thinkers to express their ingenuity. While navigating this environment presents exciting pathways to innovation, it also poses unique obstacles when executing an entrepreneurial vision.
The Google for Startup Accelerator: Black Founders cohort helps startups navigate these initial phases through its 10-week program for high potential Seed to Series A tech startups. The accelerator gives Black-led companies the tools to scale key business building blocks. Participants receive mentorship, product design and customer acquisition support, each strengthening core components of their companies.
Last year, this initiative opened its doors to Canadian entrepreneurs and now counts Toronto-based startup, HumanSquad, as one of its 2022 members. Founded by Tunde Omotoye (CEO) and Temilola Adebayo (COO), HumanSquad helps potential Canadian immigrants navigate the Canadian immigration system more confidently and rapidly. HumanSquad connects its users with regulated professionals who assist with all facets of the immigration process. To accomplish its mission, HumanSquad also provides accessible career development services such as interview coaching and cover letter drafting.
A year following the inception of HumanSquad, Tunde won the $20,000 CAD grand prize at the DMZ’s inaugural Black Innovation Summit. The DMZ is a world-leading incubator focused on connecting startups with a network of capital, customers, experts and a community of entrepreneurs. Since 2016, as Legal Counsel in Residence, Goodmans LLP has provided legal services and guidance to these DMZ ventures.
HumanSquad continues to shine this year, raising a six figure pre-seed investment led by Calm Fund. With many deserved wins early in the company’s development, the future is bright for HumanSquad and its users as their journey to Canada is well-equipped with avenues for success.
