WHOOP Opens Advanced Labs: Pairing Blood Biomarkers with 24/7 Wearable Data
Human performance company WHOOP has launched WHOOP Advanced Labs (WAL), a new service that combines lab-based diagnostics with 24/7 continuous monitoring to provide a comprehensive view of the wearer’s health and performance.
Developed in collaboration with the WHOOP Advisory Board, comprising doctors, researchers and medical professionals, WAL introduces blood testing to compliment their continuous wearable data.
Key features of WAL include:
- testing of critical biomarkers that influence health and performance;
- clinician-reviewed results for personalized recommendations;
- AI-powered coaching for daily guidance and insights; and
- progress tracking, which demonstrates how lifestyle adjustments influence biomarkers.
To use WAL, members can either upload existing bloodwork from any lab provider directly into the WHOOP app, or they can opt for comprehensive testing through a WAL subscription. This screening covers a plethora of biomarkers, such as ferritin, hematocrit, calcium and white blood cells, and integrates these results with WHOOP’s ongoing data on activity, sleep, respiratory rate and blood pressure to provide more personalized wellness advice.
The response to WAL has been overwhelmingly positive, with over 350,000 people currently on the service’s waitlist.
