Steven Marmer is an associate in the business law group at Goodmans. He is developing his practice in the areas of corporate law and banking and finance law.
Steven represents lenders and borrowers on commercial financings and lending transactions, including acquisition finance, project finance, cross-border transactions and asset-based lending.
Before joining Goodmans, Steven was an associate at another large Canadian law firm practicing finance law.
Steven received his J.D. at the University of Ottawa where he was awarded numerous awards for academic excellence. While attending law school, Steven served as a teaching assistant, conducted research for two professors, served as an editor for the Ottawa Law Review and also competed in several competitive moots.

Steven has co-authored a number of updates in the area of banking and finance, including, most recently, the Canada chapter of The Acquisition and Leveraged Finance Review 9th Edition published December 2022.
