Michael Hassar is an associate in the Tax Group at Goodmans.

Before joining Goodmans, Michael was an associate in the Tax Group at another Canadian firm. He is developing a practice in all areas of income and commodity taxation that arise in corporate and commercial transactions.

Michael is recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada in the area of Tax Law.

Cadillac Mines Corporation in connection with its C$440 million initial public offering of common shares and special flow-through shares, and its concurrent C$60 million private placement.
Hudbay Minerals Inc. in connection with its acquisition of Arizona Sonoran Copper Company Inc. in an all-share transaction valued at US$1.48 billion at announcement.
Coeur Mining, Inc. in connection with its acquisition of New Gold Inc. for US$7 billion.
Newmont Corporation in connection with its non-core divestiture program.
Mandalay Resources Corporation in connection with its agreement to combine in a merger of equals transaction with Alkane Resources Ltd., pursuant to which Alkane will acquire all the issued and outstanding common shares of Mandalay.
Converge Technology Solutions Corp. in connection with the successful acquisition of all of its issued and outstanding common shares by an affiliate of H.I.G. Capital.
