Overview

Shazia Banduk is the Director of Professional Development at Goodmans.

She is responsible for the continuing legal education, professionalism, skills development and diversity & inclusion programs for our lawyers and law students. She also leads the firm’s client-facing education initiatives through our Goodmans Presents program.

Prior to this role, Shazia was the firm’s Co-Director of Legal Talent. Working with fellow Co-Directors Ali Richardson and Michel Lederman, they together led the firm’s legal talent and management efforts, and were responsible for all aspects of our student, associate and law clerk programs including managing recruitment, mentorship, professional development advancement, and performance management. Shazia continues to work closely with Ali and Michel in her current role. 

Shazia summered and articled at Goodmans before practicing corporate law for several years as an associate, and then practiced as an in-house lawyer at a prominent global accounting firm for several years. She received her honours B.A. from Ivey Business School at Western University, her J.D. from Western University and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2011.
