Overview
Yaseen Manan is an associate in the Dispute Resolution Group at Goodmans. His practice focuses on intellectual property disputes.
Yaseen advises clients on all manners of intellectual property disputes, and has represented a wide variety of client, including in pharmaceutical, oil and gas, and technology space. He has participated in trials in actions under section 6 and section 8 of the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations, and section 55 of the Patent Act. Yaseen has appeared before the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal.
Before joining Goodmans, Yaseen was an associate at a boutique intellectual property litigation firm.

- Janssen Inc v Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd – successfully represented Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd at first instance and appellate level in a patent proceeding relating to the drug abiraterone
- Janssen Inc v Pharmascience Inc – represented Pharmascience Inc. in a patent proceeding relating to the drug paliperidone palmitate
- Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Canada Inc v Taro Pharmaceuticals Inc – successfully represented Taro Pharmaceutical Inc. at the appellate level, confirming the right of a second person to amend its statement of defense in an action under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations
- Betser-Zilevitch v Petrochina Canada Ltd – represented an inventor, Mr. Betser-Zilevitch, in a patent proceeding relating to SAGD technology
- Eli Lilly Canada Inc v Pharmascience – successfully represented Pharmascience Inc. in a patent proceeding relating to the drug tadalafil
