Welltower Chartwell Joint Venture

Goodmans LLP represented Welltower Inc. ("Welltower") (NYSE: WELL), in connection with a joint venture between Welltower and Chartwell Retirement Residences ("Chartwell") (TSX: CSH.UN), that acquired an 85% interest in Chartwell Le St-Gabriel résidence pour retraités ("Chartwell Le St-Gabriel") from Batimo Inc. ("Batimo"). 

As a result of the transaction, Welltower and Chartwell each own a 42.5% interest in the property, and Batimo retains a 15% interest.  Chartwell Le St-Gabriel résidence pour retraités is a 345-suite residence offering 313 independent living and 21 assisted living suites in Saint-Hubert, Quebec. The purchase price included the assumption of debt held by Otéra Capital Inc. ("Otéra").
