Caroline Descours and Michelle Vigod named 2020 Lexpert Rising Stars
Goodmans is pleased to announce that Caroline Descours and Michelle Vigod have been selected as Lexpert® Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 for 2020.
Caroline Descours is a partner in the Restructuring Group at Goodmans, which is consistently and widely recognized as Canada’s best and leading corporate restructuring practice. Her practice focuses on corporate restructuring and commercial insolvency matters, including Canadian, transnational and cross-border matters. Caroline has significant experience in corporate and insolvency restructurings, recapitalization transactions, acquisitions, commercial financing transactions, and private equity and corporate matters. Her roles include acting as counsel for companies, secured and unsecured debtholders, and monitors and trustees, as well as advising boards of directors in respect of corporate and restructuring transactions and strategic alternatives. She also acts for private equity funds and investors in a broad range of transactions.
Michelle Vigod is a partner at Goodmans. She has a broad transactional-based practice involving all aspects of corporate and securities law, with particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate finance. Michelle advises public and private companies on a broad range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, take-over bids, capital raising, corporate reorganizations and private equity transactions.
Lexpert's Rising Stars includes lawyers in private practice, as well as in-house counsel. Finalists were selected by an advisory board who lead some of Canada's largest law firms and corporations. The 2020 Rising Stars were announced online on November 16th, 2020 and will be featured in a special issue of Lexpert Magazine.
