Goodmans Awarded at the Managing IP Awards Americas 2024

We are delighted to share Goodmans Intellectual Property Litigation practice and lawyers have won multiple awards at the Managing IP Awards Americas 2024.

Canada Practitioner of the Year - Patent Disputes
Congratulations to Goodmans partner Andrew Brodkin, named Canada Practitioner of the Year (Patent Disputes).

Andrew is a partner and a member of the Executive Committee at Goodmans.  He also heads the Dispute Resolution Group, and focuses his practice on high stakes intellectual property litigation where he has been described as “having had more successes than anyone in this practice area in history” (Who’s Who Legal) and as “the undisputed IP litigator in Canada” (Chambers Canada).

Canada Firm of the Year - Patent Disputes
Goodmans has also been awarded the
Canada Firm of the Year - Patent Disputes. Whether asserting intellectual property or defending against IP claims, the Goodmans Intellectual Property Group has unparalleled experience litigating complex and high-stakes IP litigation.

Our lawyers are always at the forefront of industry-altering patent issues arising before the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal, shaping the law through original thinking and thoughtful legal solutions imported from other jurisdictions.

Impact Cases of the Year - AbbVie v JAMP Pharma (2023 FC 1520)
Goodmans Intellectual Property Group, with a team led by Andrew Brodkin and Jordan Scopa, also won an Impact Case of the Year award for our representation of JAMP Pharma Corporation successfully avoiding a permanent injunction sought by AbbVie Corporation and Abbvie Biotechnology Ltd., and being permitted to continue to market Simlandi in Canada.
