Google Files Trademark Application for New Operating System
Google has filed a trademark application for a new operating system called “Pigweed”. The application has been filed under the "computer operating software" category.
It is unclear when Google will unveil Pigweed. Commentators have noted that the name “Android” was trademarked only five days before the operating system was released in 2007, while the name “Fuchsia”, another operating system being developed by Google, has been trademarked for over two years without being officially unveiled.
