Mercedes-Benz Gears Up to Challenge Tesla
Back in October, Mercedes-Benz announced a slate of impending electric vehicles including the EQS, EQE and EQS SUV.
The German automaker has been slow to introduce electric vehicles, but, according to motor1.com, it is now ready to challenge Tesla for a share in the luxury electric vehicle market. Mercedes’ three electric vehicles are expected to arrive as 2022 models.
Daimler AG, the owner of Mercedes-Benz, recently took steps to secure intellectual property it may use for the upcoming EQE model. The EQE is expected to serve as the electric equivalent of the E-Class Sedan.
Daimler has filed to register new trademarks with the European Union Intellectual Property Office for “EQE 43,” “EQE 53,” and “EQE 63”. The trademark filings suggest that the EQE will spawn high-performance (AMG) versions similar to the E-Class Sedan lineup.
