New Microsoft Patent Aimed at Visually-Impaired Gamers
According to Windows Central, Microsoft has filed a patent for a new Xbox controller aimed at visually-impaired gamers.
The controller, which appears in the patent as a standard Xbox One pad, incorporates a braille panel that constantly adjusts itself so that gamers will able to read text that would otherwise appear on screen and go unseen. The proposed panel will also convert speech to braille, which will allow gamers to communicate by chat or during a livestream.
The patent may represent a major step in accessibility for visually-impaired gamers.
