David Coll-Black is a partner in the business law group at Goodmans. His practice focuses on corporate and securities law. He advises public, private and multinational companies and their investors on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, going private transactions, as well as public and private debt and equity financings and corporate governance matters.
David is recognized by The Legal 500 Canada as a “Next Generation Partner” in the area of Capital Markets and recommended in the area of Corporate and M&A. He is also recognized by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the areas of M&A and Corporate Finance & Securities and by IFLR1000 as a “Rising Star Partner”.

Public Mergers and Acquisitions
- Converge Technology Solutions Corp. in connection with its $1.3 billion acquisition by H.I.G. Capital.
- Newmont Corporation in connection with its US$10 billion acquisition of Goldcorp Inc.
- Hudbay Minerals Inc. in connection with its US$439 million acquisition of Copper Mountain Mining Corporation.
- Hudbay Minerals Inc. in connection with its C$540 million hostile take-over bid for Augusta Resources Corp.
