Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT sells UK portfolio

Goodmans LLP acted as Canadian tax and securities law counsel to Northwest Healthcare Properties Real Estate Investment Trust in connection with the sale of its UK portfolio to Assura PLC for gross proceeds of C$885 million.

The UK portfolio comprises 14 private hospitals with an average of 36 registered beds per hospital.

Northwest is a leading owner and operator of healthcare real estate infrastructure in North America, Brazil, Europe and Australasia. The completion of this strategic sale transaction concludes Northwest’s previously announced strategic review process.
