Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago

Goodmans acts as external regulatory counsel for TSTT in disputes filed by interconnecting carriers before the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago regarding rates for termination of international traffic. 

Goodmans role included attendance at hearing of the arbitration in Port of Spain in July 2019, including cross-examination of principal witnesses on economic evidence.

This matter is significant because this is the first arbitration to consider a number of issues, including the requirement for interconnecting carriers not to discriminate between different interconnection customers, as well as the importance of foreign exchange earned from international services to Trinidad and Tobago’s telecommunications industry.
