For the second time in as many months, Goodmans Intellectual Property Group has won multiple awards. We are delighted to share Goodmans has been honoured with two distinguished awards at the Benchmark Canada Awards 2024 – wins which follow closely after the group won three awards at the Managing IP Awards Americas 2024.
Intellectual Property Litigator of the Year
Congratulations once again to Goodmans partner Andrew Brodkin, who has been named Intellectual Property Litigator of the Year only weeks after Managing IP named him Canada Practitioner of the Year – Patent Disputes.
Andrew is a partner and a member of the Executive Committee at Goodmans. He also heads the Dispute Resolution Group, and focuses his practice on high stakes intellectual property litigation where he has been described as “having had more successes than anyone in this practice area in history” (Who’s Who Legal) and as “the undisputed IP litigator in Canada” (Chambers Canada).
Intellectual Property Firm of the Year
Goodmans has also been named Intellectual Property Firm of the Year. This honour comes in addition to being named Canada Firm of the Year – Patent Disputes by Managing IP.
Whether asserting intellectual property or defending against IP claims, the Goodmans Intellectual Property Group has unparalleled experience litigating complex and high-stakes IP litigation.
Our lawyers are always at the forefront of industry-altering patent issues arising before the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal, shaping the law through original thinking and thoughtful legal solutions imported from other jurisdictions.
Goodmans litigators have won some of the most important and high-profile cases that have recently been decided in Canadian courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

The Benchmark Canada Awards recognize the country’s most distinguished litigators and their firms for their exemplary work.
